Preface

Bells have grown to be a fundamental element of our traditions during the Christmas season. All the way through history, bells have been employed to signal the celebration of special occasions. Their dazzling and vibrant sound was a cue that something significant was going on. In many rural communities across the globe, the populace would use the church bells to ring in the start of particular events of merriment. Bells also declared the approaching or onset of an affair. They are also used to welcome in good times and warm tidings.

History of Come on, Ring Those Bells

This Christmas song was written by Andrew Culverwell, a Contemporary Christian songwriter, during the 1970’s. It was then made popular by Evie back in 1977. In relation to the Christmas song, these bells were rung at some point in Christmas to proclaim the advent of the season, but most importantly to assert the birth of Christ Jesus, Our Lord and Savior.

Come on, Ring Those Bells Lyrics

Everybody likes to take a holiday
Everybody likes to take a rest
Spending time together with the family
Sharing lots of love and happiness.

Come on, ring those bells,
Light the Christmas tree,
Jesus is the king
Born for you and me.
Come on, ring those bells,
Every-body say,
Jesus, we remember
This your birthday.

Celebrations come because of something good.
Celebrations we love to recall
Mary had a baby boy in Bethleham
the greatest celebration of all.

Come on, ring those bells,
Light the Christmas tree,
Jesus is the King
Born for you and me.
Come on, ring those bells,
Every-body say,
Jesus, we remember
This your birthday.
